I took a pretty long hiatus away from the blog. Life just got busy but I am glad to be writing again. So welcome back to all my readers! I’ll be doing a quick review today on the famous Chanel Espadrilles. Surprise, surprise …they are of course one of my favourite shoes.
What’s your favourite? Left ( Chanel Slingbacks) vs Right ( Chanel Espadrilles)

There is a reason why Chanel espadrilles remain such a staple summer shoe till today. I was a little late in jumping on the bandwagon but better late than never. Nothing screams more Parisian than these pair of buttery smooth leather beauties that epitomise classic chic , timelessness and functionality all in one package. They come in all kinds of designs and fabric every season but I find the leather ones the most versatile and definitely the pair to go for if you are purchasing your first pair .
Here is my quick review about the pair that I own.
Any regrets? No.
Durability ? Pretty good so far after a year. I don’t usually baby my shoes . Just DO NOT wear them in the rain
Sizing ? I am usually a true size 36.5 acrose the board (ie Valentinos, Gucci , Aquazzura, Stuart Weitzman) in most shoes and have fairly wide feet. This is a rough guide but I’d say go down a half size as there are actually no half sizes for the espadrilles. It has to be a snug fit from the beginning as they do expand to at least a half size larger after a while. Therefore I am glad I did not get a 37 even though it felt more comfy than the 36 initially
Where did I purchase it? The Chanel store at Westfield Bondi Junction. They were a tough find as the 2 main stores in Sydney were constantly sold out.
Versatility ? For sure. Keep reading below to see how versatile they are and the many ways you could wear them to elevate the look of various outfits
1.Wear it with a mini skirt/shorts
During the spring/summer months, I do love a classic white tee paired with a pair of comfy skirt or shorts. I think a pair of espadrilles really complements a casual outfit quite effortlessly on days you want to throw something on quickly and head out the door to do errands or just for a day out.

2. Wear it with cropped jeans
I wore my espadrilles a lot while walking around in LA during winter and it felt great and buttery smooth on my feet. I am quite picky when it comes to walking shoes due to swollen bunions but the espadrilles were a great choice for walking and I think they work well with a pair of cropped jeans and a casual trench coat

3. Wear it with a midi skirt/dress
I am all about comfy wearable, low maintenance clothing like this leopard print skirt from Zara. The leopard print trend is still going strong and I think it is fast becoming a new “neutral” or staple piece these days.
