Everybody needs a classic trench coat. The iconic trench from Burberry is truly a must-have. It is a classic, forever piece that will last a lifetime in my wardrobe. I was lucky to score this during my recent London trip at Bicester Village ( see post here ). Mine is the discontinued Crombrook design which is not made out of the typical waterproof Gabradine material but I love it nonetheless. I live in sunny Sydney which does not rain as much as places like Europe so I figured I did not really need a waterproof trench. The fit is in between the Kensington and Sandringham designs (not too loose yet not too tight on the arms) and the price was a 1/3rd of the Kensington design. You know me, I love a good bargain!
Drape the trench over the shoulders
3 ways to rock the trench. The first is easy , drape the trench over the shoulders to get that chic, elegant feel . This coat does stay on the shoulders without sliding off .
Secondly, wear the trench casually with the belt hung on the sides. I usually prefer not to fasten the buckle belt unless the weather becomes really chilly.

If you are interested to rock this look, I have included some useful links on more affordable trench coat options. I think this is a great starting point to try the trend before you decide to go ahead and spend on an investment piece like the Burberry Trench Coat.

I am currently obsessed with the camel sweater trend this season. I love the warmer brown camel tones on soft cashmere. That being said , cashmere sweaters are delicate and kind of a pain to wash as most of them need to be dry cleaned or hand-washed an dried a certain way. I love that Uniqlo has produced a collection of really easy to handle cashmere sweaters like the one I am currently wearing here. This sweater has survived the washing machine on the delicate wool setting, so I am throughly pleased!
If camel cashmere sweaters are your thing as well, here are some great options which are currently on my wishlist!

Thirdly , this Burberry Trench coat also looks great paired with a dress. Here I have paired it with one of my favourite dresses from Zimmermann and some classic OTK boots from Stuart Weitzman. Tying the buckle belt into her knot around the back gives a more feminine silhouette as it cinches at the waist just a little. Seeing how versatile this neutral trench is , I know I will get so much wear out of this coat and justify the cost per wear as absolutely worth the investment.
