I never really liked the teddy coat look initially as I thought it would look like a giant potato on my petite frame, but I think after a while it just grew on me . Now there is no turning back. I really think the teddy coat trend is here to stay this winter season , or at least for a little while longer.
Some days I just need to get out from the house real quick into the freezing cold. I love how this coat is so carefree and easy to throw on and oh it feels like being wrapped around in fuzzy blanket. This coat has been a life saviour on cold winter nights when I need to head out to the movies for a late night show or just simply to make a quick dash to Kmart or Woolies for groceries.
When you are not too sure about a trend, I think hitting up the high street brands is a great way to try it out without breaking the bank . I love the look of this Faux fur coat from Atmos and Here as it has a nice beige neutral tone and that it does not shed. The giant lapels simply add an extra touch of warmth and coziness to the coat which I adore. I actually went for the XS size and yet it still looks oversized on my 5 feet 2 frame. I guess that’s the whole point as it is after all an oversized teddy coat

The best thing about an oversized teddy coat is that you could layer it so easily with virtually anything underneath. I find that no matter how thick my sweater or jacket underneath , the teddy coat is still very wearable. I find coats that get too tight or restrict my arms particularly annoying , so I am glad that this coat does not do that. Layering is a great way to transition a look from casual to formal and to also keep warm! This time, I chose my favourite tweed jacket from Zara (similar link here) to transition my outfit into a semi-formal look.
I love the Chanel-esque look of this jacket for a fraction of the price. I could dress it up for work as well as dress it down with good pair of dark denim like the Rag and Bone Jeans that I paired it with. I also love the tiny little pearl detail on the jacket pockets. Unfortunately I bought this jacket last year during the Zara sale and it is now not currently available.

The tweed jacket look is such a classic, evergreen style. Such a wardrobe staple to have. I am pretty sure I will be adding another one from a high street brand (perhaps a brighter colour) as I have gotten a lot of use out of my current tweed piece. If you are thinking of rocking the tweed jacket, there are some very affordable options that I found for you, so take a look down below.

One of my favourite tote bags of all time is the Balenciaga City Bag. This is a very fuss free bag that is versatile and goes with any outfit because of its neutral shade of gray. The best thing about it is the detachable strap which I can easily use to carry this bag over my shoulder whenever my forearm starts to ache after hours of carrying it . I am not going to lie, even after Balenciaga decided to shrink the size of the hardware, this is a relatively heavy leather bag.
Last but not least , who doesn’t love a nude pair of Valentino Rockstuds. I have worn this pair to many events and numerous occasions and they still look as good as they looked like the first day I bought them. I am more of a low heeled/flats kind of girl , so these Rockstuds really do work in my favour. Note that I could not walk in 3 inch heels for more than 1 hour , after which my feet would start crying out in agony.
